Not every guest wants to be in the middle of things. The Courtyard Room is for the ones who want their own door, their own outdoor space, and the freedom to move at their own pace.
The room sits on the ground floor of the main inn with a private entrance that opens directly to a small courtyard — enclosed, quiet, and reserved for this room alone. There’s no shared patio here, no rotation of strangers with their coffee cups and weekend plans. Just your own patch of outdoor space in a 157-year-old inn garden, where the morning light comes in at the angle that makes Lake Geneva summers worth rearranging your life for.
Inside, the Courtyard Room is fully equipped for a stay of real comfort: king bed, private shower, air conditioning, microwave, refrigerator, and streaming TV. These are the practical things. The less practical but equally important thing is that you’re staying in a building that has been on this property since 1867, on a lot that has looked out toward Geneva Lake for longer than most American institutions have existed.
Access to Eleven Gables’ private pier is included with your stay — a walk of a few minutes to the water’s edge, where you can swim, sit, or watch the sun drop behind the western shore. Dogs are welcome at the pier. So is doing absolutely nothing.
The inn sits three blocks from the Riviera Ballroom, one of the great surviving examples of 1930s lakefront architecture in the Midwest, and within easy walking distance of downtown Lake Geneva’s restaurants, shops, and the Geneva Lake shorepath — 21 miles of continuous lakefront trail, publicly accessible and passing directly through the property.
From $265 per night.
