Lake Geneva Bike Trails
Road biking is best done outside the City of Lake Geneva. Within 10 minutes you can be riding through real rural Wisconsin back roads. Riding around Lake Geneva is not a good idea, the roads are mostly two lane with heaving traffic and multiple ingress points with no shoulder and steep hills. The lakefront McMansions are not visible from the road, best to walk the lake shore path for sight seeing. The lake shore path is not friendly for road biking, more like the mountain biking type terrain .
The White River Trail is a beautiful, flat, easy, 12-mile abandoned railroad bed with fine crushed gravel, passing by numerous bridges, farmlands, and wetlands through Wisconsin’s Southeast Glacial Plains landscape. The trail starts from Elkhorn, WI at the west end, to Burlington, WI to the east, while traveling through Springfield and Lyons, Wisconsin. Family and Dog Friendly. The White River Trail is the best Lake Geneva bike trail to date. Perfectly level going through the back yards of farms. At sunrise wildlife can be seen from the trail.
In Springfield a old railroad station as been turned into quaint bike rental and coffee shop. A good place to park your car and get on the trail. Petal & Cup.

Located 35 minutes. north of Lake Geneva the tails at the Kettle Moraine State Forest are awesome. The John Muir is a single track technical in areas; can be very hilly, it may be the most visited trail system in the state. The Emma Carlin is shorter and a little milder. There is a connector trail between the two that is a little easier. Bring bug juice in the summer! For map of John Muir Mountain Bike Trials.
